FAQ

The Answers You Need

WHAT SERVICES DO YOU PROVIDE?

We provide a variety of ceremonial services:

-Weddings

-Elopements

-Vow renewals

-Premarital education - course and individual sessions

DO YOU HAVE A SCRIPT OR DO YOU PERSONALIZE THE WEDDING CEREMONY FOR EACH COUPLE?

We understand that some couples may wish to have more autonomy over their ceremony, while others may prefer to follow an outline. We personalize ceremonies for those who want more creative control, but we also offer scripts for those who want to be less involved in the planning, as well as for those who are looking for inspiration but want to deviate.

Your ceremony is your own, and you can have as much or as little input as you desire.

CAN WE WRITE OUR OWN VOWS? WILL YOU HELP US WITH THAT?

Yes! You can choose to write your own vows, use traditional vows, or use a mix of both. I can provide examples to help you shape your vows in a way that suits your relationship.

HOW MANY TIMES WILL WE MEET?

This depends on the package you choose.

The Wedding Package includes 6 times in total: 4 for counseling, 1 for rehearsal, and 1 for the wedding.

The Elopement Package includes 1 meeting: the elopement. You also may choose to have an optional rehearsal before the elopement for no extra cost.

The Vow Renewal includes 1-2 meetings: 1 for a rehearsal, and 1 for the ceremony.

The Pre-Marital Course includes 12 meetings: Twelve 1-hour counseling sessions.

HOW DO I GET MARRIED IN MINNESOTA?

To be legally married in Minnesota, you first have to apply for a marriage license. After application, you must be married by someone authorized to perform marriages. You will then get a marriage certificate that shows you are legally married.

WHERE DO I GET A MARRIAGE LICENSE?

You can apply for a marriage license at your county license center. Each county is a bit different, so check your county website for general information. Many counties have forms you can print or an online application.

DO YOU TRAVEL?

Yes! I travel 30 minutes from Minneapolis and St. Paul for no cost. There is an additional $0.50 per mile beyond that distance.

DO YOU HAVE A BACKUP?

My number one priority is always to follow through on my commitment to you, rain or shine. However, it can be nerve-wracking for couples in a time where exposure to illness may prevent providers from following through, causing undue stress on their wedding day. To ease your worries about any emergencies that might get in the way, my brother and best friend, Bradley Cochran, will serve as my backup for every ceremony.
